There is a whole language associated with staircases – and this is my go to diagram to understand the various terms.
So much can be done with the finish and redecoration, endless colour possibilities. It is worth consideration up front because the staircase runs up the house and decisions will impact skirting, doorframes, even doors and the timing of redecoration and carpeting and laying floors.
