House Refurbishment – Battersea
Work undertaken
In this Battersea project, Clara Bee focused on introducing colour, texture and a subtle sense of wow throughout. We redesigned the utility room with new cabinetry and worktop, finished with antique brass fixtures. A bold wallpaper and playful splashback tiles add interest, grounded by warm, earthy tones.
The guest bedroom was designed as a calm, comfortable space, using a full green colour drench with panelling for depth. Soft furnishings were carefully selected to create a layered, relaxed feel, while the en-suite ties in with a simple pink wallpaper and panelling combination.
Further work undertaken
For the second phase of this Battersea project, we turned our attention to the ground floor, introducing more character and those all-important design details while creating a warm, cohesive feel throughout.
The hallway was designed to feel calm and welcoming, with Victorian-inspired details including wall panelling, patterned floor tiles and a traditional column radiator with antique brass finishes. A stair runner with brass stair rods brings warmth and texture and sets the tone for the rooms beyond.
Leading off the hallway, the double reception was transformed with bespoke storage and plenty of natural texture. Decorative beading, grasscloth wallpaper and wood-backed shelving add warmth and interest, while a full-height bespoke toy cupboard provides practical hidden storage in the adjoining children’s area. Here, softer curved furniture and playful details were introduced in tones that complement the main reception.
In the front room, bespoke armchairs, loveseats and a footstool were designed with comfort and practicality in mind, using a mix of colour, pattern and texture to give the room its own personality while still feeling relaxed and inviting.
At the back of the house, the existing handmade kitchen was given a considered refresh with new paint colours, tiles and sandstone flooring. A bespoke built-in seating area with hidden storage and layered fabrics adds comfort to the dining space and creates a welcoming spot overlooking the garden.
