Claire Burrage

Creative Director

Claire is Creative Director at Clara Bee.  She has always been passionate about property and interior design and bought her first property in 1995 – transforming what was an ugly, dilapidated wreck into a beautiful home.

There followed a period of experimentation with colours, furnishings and textiles; an invaluable learning experience that has ultimately given her instinct for design and eye for home styling detail a sharp focus.

Over subsequent years, Claire found an outlet for her passion by helping friends with their property projects, working around being a mother to two daughters.  She helped design practical solutions that make spaces work, while building up contacts with property professionals and project managing contractors.

Gradually, that work became more formalized – new clients arrived largely through word of mouth recommendation and, as the number of projects increased a business was born.  Clara Bee Limited was established in May 2011.

“I had two rooms to decorate, one for a new baby and the other being for a boy and girl sharing. I had a strict time frame to work within and Clara was very reliable, dependable and most of all made herself available at all times. She did an outstanding job with all aspects of interior design on both rooms. I highly recommend her.”

Trevor Burrage

Project Manager

Trevor is the driving force behind Project Delivery at Clara Bee, having decided to leave corporate life and help his wife grow the business back in March 2015.

A certified Programme Director (MSP) and Project Manager (PRINCE) with over 35 years experience managing projects for large technology and outsourcing firms in the city. Trevor spent his first few months developing a bespoke project preparation process. The result is a clear alignment between every client’s planned budget and the scope of work being discussed. The benefits of this approach is total transparency of project funding prior to the kick-off, a strong foundation for managing change control during delivery and, ultimately, fewer unforeseen ‘extras’ from contractors.

Trevor is passionate about architecture. In particular the way new spaces work for the family living there – as well as the balance that must be struck with other areas of the home.

The great thing about using a Project Manager was that it was hassle free. Clara Bee made what would have been a stressful project into an enjoyable experience, and we now have the kitchen we’ve always wanted.
